Glebe House is set in the heart of Hardy's Wessex with excellent access to many places of interest.

Groceries, fruit, fresh vegetables, milk and dairy produce, delicatessen foods, wines, newspapers (daily and Sunday) are available from Alweston Village Stores / Post Office at Alweston, half a mile away.

Sherborne, just 10 minutes drive away, is one of the most beautiful towns in England. With its abundance of medieval buildings, superb abbey, world famous schools, picturesque almshouse and two castles, Sherborne has much to offer visitors.

The Blackmore Vale and surrounding hills are perfect for country walks.

There are several fine golf courses in the Sherborne area, including an enjoyable 'pay-and-play' nine-hole course within walking distance of Glebe House.

You will find a choice of good country inns and restaurants nearby.

The Dorset Heritage Coast (recently designated a World Heritage Site) is within easy driving distance, as are the towns of Bath, Salisbury and Dorchester. There are some wonderful historic houses, with a good selection of National Trust properties, all within a 25 mile radius of Folke. The Fleet Air Arm museum is at nearby Yeovilton.
